In November 2010, as our Christmas project Mary Greengo showed us how to make decorations called Chinese Dumplings.  Why they are called this we do not know!

However, cardboard is used as the basis, and shaped into a double diamond and fancy pins placed at each point, and a ribbon hanger attached. 

The first meeting we used crochet cotton or similar to wind around the cardboard mostly using one colour, and at the second meeting we used ribbon of various colours, some people also making larger dumplings.

These decorations are very pretty and the following two photos [taken by Jennie] show our effort, plus some of Mary's own ones.  The second photo shows two of the larger dumplings, the red and green one not quite finished and showing the cardboard base.
