Following the visit and presentation by Blythswood in May 2011, as well as the individual knitting and donations by members, the Club has decided to ask members to do some knitting to make blankets for this charity.
These will be in the form of strips to be joined up at a later date in time for our Blythswood Collection Night on
3rd October.
Please use the following pattern, utilising any small quantities of yarn in any colour:
Double Knitting yarn, needles size 4mm [English 8].
Cast on 30 - 40 stitches depending on the yarn and your tension to give approximately 6" width.
Knit in garter stitch [every row knit], slipping the first stitch in every row, to a length of 6 ft.
The strips will be joined together using the slipped stitches on each row. This will probably be done one evening at a Club meeting.
